What Is The USHJA’s EAP?

July 17, 2021

This article titled “Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program” breaks down how it works, regional and national equestrian training, as well as their commitment to safety.

“The Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program was created to provide opportunities for young riders to advance their horsemanship education and riding skills. Since the EAP’s inception in 2009, athletes have gone on to earn numerous championships and titles in the Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation show rings, including the Platinum Performance/USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals, the ASPCA Maclay Finals, USEF Prix des States, and the IHSA Nationals, to name just a few. Please visit the EAP Alumni page for more information.” – www.ushja.org

One of Cavallo’s very own was an EAP participant. Grace Dreyer is an Assistant Instructor with us. She participated in the USHJA Emerging Athletes Program in 2014 and 2015 with her horse Castlebay, whom she still owns today. During her time in the program, she was immersed in both riding and stable management, earned many accolades, and rode under Olympic athletes.
