Our History

Owners, trainers and lifelong friends Amy Owen Center and Janet Price Cawley have spent a lifetime dedicated to horses. From their first introductions into equestrian life, neither has slowed down a bit.

This pair brings a wealth of experience from riding with nationally acclaimed trainers, competing in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings successfully; and qualifying and competing at all major junior finals. This led to inspiring a complementary way of teaching that gives their students an education from multiple perspectives.

Their dream as childhood friends was to own and operate a top hunter/jumper facility that never loses site of the true love of horses and the desire to share this world with all. Today, they have successfully impacted too many riders and horses to count. Along their journey, both have gained accolades and awards not only from riding and competing but from equestrian journalism, sportsmanship, and service, too. These two want to make the equestrian world as wonderful to all as they know it to be.

They continue to give back to the sport by supporting charitable organizations, participating in local and national governance of the sport, and promoting classic education across our nation. 

Cavallo Farms was established in October of 1993.  By 2001, Amy and Janet had secured the beautiful 47-acre property for their Tallahassee riding school. They’ve been growing their Cavallo Farms riding facility ever since then and have created an equestrian sanctuary that is now home to many riders and competitors from all around the country.

The Cavallo Farms dream is centric to the philosophy of creating lifetime riders through a dedication to learning, hard work and a passion for helping others. We focus on cultivating the unexplored talents of youth riders by instilling these values within them and providing equestrian education from a young age. With national honors and awards already under our belt, our purpose now centers around paying it forward to the next generation of riders by sharing our experience in the equestrian world and our love for horses.
