The Dynamic Duo Behind Cavallo Farms
The owners of Cavallo Farms, Janet Price Cawley and Amy Owen Center, have a deep-rooted history in the equestrian world, having met as children in Orlando, Florida, where they rode at a competitive Hunter/Jumper barn. Both of them had impressive junior careers, competing in prestigious events such as Pony Finals, Medal and Maclay Finals, and the Junior Jumper Zone Teams.
They both attended Florida State University and trained under Grand Prix rider Barry Lane, which encouraged them to pursue professional careers in equestrianism. After graduating from FSU, they founded Cavallo Farms in 1993, initially renting a barn, and steadily grew their clientele through dedication and hard work. By 2001, they secured their own 47-acre property in Lloyd, Florida, which is now the permanent home of Cavallo Farms.
Janet brings a wealth of experience, having started riding at the age of six and later competing in prestigious events like the USEF Medal Finals and ASPCA Maclay Finals. She is passionate about teaching riders of all levels, from young children to advanced competitors.
Amy, on the other hand, began riding at nine years old and developed a strong passion for jumping. She now holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from FSU but has remained deeply involved in the equestrian world, working with green horses and serving as a USEF Licensed Official.
Their combined expertise has shaped Cavallo Farms into one of Tallahassee’s leading equestrian centers, offering training, lessons, and a strong sense of community for riders of all ages.
